FAWP Reserve League
17th September 2017
Huddersfield Town Dev's 10 - Brighouse Town Res's 0
The Development team hit 10 past their opposition for the 2nd league game in a row as an extremely positive performance saw them make it 3 wins from 3 and sit top of the FAWPL Reserve Northern Division.
Town were in control from the start and kept up the same momentum for 90 minutes. The lively Ella Harris scored a double hat-trick in an excellent individual run out with her strike partner confidently slotting home twice in the first half..
The young squad were lead fantastically by captain and MOM Katie Halligan who was at the forefront of everything before being substituted with 25 minutes reamaining.
New signing Jodie Hunter was comfortable at centre half before being brought into the holding midfield role. Hunter had 2 efforts fly just wide and over before her hard work was rewarded when a long range strike deceived the Brighouse keeper to bounce kindly into the far corner of the net.
Beth Allen for the 3rd game in a row came off the bench to add to her tally for the season with a cushioned header at the near post following a dangerous Harris free kick.
2 penalties either side of half time saw Harris's amazing performance topped off with a rare double hat-trick.
A 10 star Town side were almost faultless in a game that saw their opposition not register a shot on target. Once again the girls set themselves a platform on which to build on with their "team" ethic being their main focus point.
Scorers: Harris x6, Broomhead x2, Hunter, Allen
MOM: Katie Halligan
