Tamara Wilcock selected for the ESFA U15's squad

Congratulations to our own (via Barnsley) 14 year old Tamara Wilcock on being selected for the English Schools' FA Girls under 15's squad.

Tamara has attended three separate trials and, this weekend (20th/21st January) will attend a squad training camp at Lillieshall National Sports Centre.

Tamara is in her second season at Huddersfield Town Ladies and plays in central midfield for the girls under 14's team. She hails from Barnsley and started to play football at the age of 7 and since under 11's for the Barnsley girls team.

As part of her involvement with the ESFA squad, she has a game against the Republic of Ireland to look forward to in early March and also the Bob Doherty International Cup which takes place in Belfast at the end of March.

Club chairman David Mallin commented, 'We were very fortunate when Tamara chose to join us in the Summer of 2016. She's a fantastically talented footballer for her age and has the right attitude to succeed at the very highest level. Hopefully, we can hang on to her and see her move up to our open age squad when she turns 16 but, whatever happens, she has a bright future in the ever expanding Women's game.'
