Huddersfield Town Women 6 - Hull City Ladies 2

Town Women won their second straight league game and, scored another six goals which propelled them to the top of the FA Women's National League Northern Division on account of goal difference.

Town started the game strongly and it took only 9 minutes for them to take the lead.  The form of Lucy Sowerby has been excellent so far this season and it was she that opened the scoring once again, tapping home an excellent cross from the right by Beth Stanfield.

Sowerby doubled Town's lead 6 minutes later, this time latching onto a defensive error and finishing well into the bottom corner (her 7th goal of the season in only 4 games).

For the next 30 minutes or so, Town wasted a number of chances trying to rush their passing and finishing. In truth they should have been more than 2 goals ahead but, just before half time, Kate Mallin gave them a more comfortable break when she lashed a shot from distance which the Hull keeper couldn't prevent from making it 3-0.

Hull came out strongly at the start of the second half and half time sub Katie Thompson fired a goal in within 90 seconds of the re-start.
Within a minute however, Town were 3 goals ahead once again when a Mallin corner was powerfully headed home by Charlotte Newsham who was making her first full start for the club.

Once again, chances went begging for Town with the woodwork coming to Hull's rescue on at least once occasion.

With 10 minutes remaining Sarah Danby slotted home a goal at the back post and then 5 minutes from time, second half sub Ellie White scored the best of the night with a screamer from distance.

Town allowed Hull City a consolation goal in the final minute of the game but still ran out impressive 6-2 winners.

Mascot for the evening was Charlotte Haigh, who is pictured before the game with captain Kate Mallin.
