Town killed off any threat that Nottingham Forest might have posed with a devastating first 33 minutes in which they were clinical with their speedy attacks and some excellent finishing.

Kate Mallin opened the scoring in the 6th minute. She picked up the ball just outside the Forest area, spotted the keeper off her line and, floated an excellent ball over her and into the net, 1-0.

In the 20th minute it was 2-0. Sarah Danby played a good ball in to Emily Heckler who made no mistake from close range.

6 minutes later and Heckler had her second with a strong right footed shot into the top corner of the net, 3-0.

Town's fourth and final goal of the game came in the 33rd minute when Forest only half cleared a shot and Lucy Sowerby tucked it into the bottom left hand corner with a nice left footed finish.

Laura Carter in Town's goal made an excellent save late in the half with Forest's only real chance of the game.

Half time 4-0.

Forest set up to starve Town of chances in the second half and for the most part succeeded.

Heckler shot wide just after the hour mark and further shots from Brittany Sanderson and Ella Harris were also off target.

Town almost got their fifth in the final minute of the game when a nice header from Cara Bickett was well saved by the Forest keeper,

Town maintain second place in the division, 3 points behind league leaders Middlesbrough and 5 ahead of third placed Leicester City but, having played more games than either.
