Hull City Res 0-4 Huddersfield Town Dev's
The Development team booked their place in the next round of the cup with a gritty 4-0 away at Hull City.
A bobbley pitch accompanied by strong winds against them meant Town had to dig their heels in against a dogged Hull City line up.
Hull piled on early pressure but Town defended everything thrown at them for the first 20 minutes. The girls eventually found their rhythm and took the lead on 25 minutes when Amy Broomhead reacted quickest to a fumble from the City keeper following a Katie Halligan drive, pouncing on the loose ball to fire home from 5 yards.
Town took control of the game and were rewarded further when Halligan rose high in the penalty area to nod home a dangerous corner from Ella Harris.
Town saw out the half by keeping the ball for large periods with chances few and far between.
HT 0-2
Town had the wind behind them in the second half as City placed every player behind the ball but great work from Broomhead down the right saw her low cross met by substitute Bethany Allen to score her second goal in as many games.
Charlotte Kenyon saved well for Town well the ball fell at the feet of the City striker 8 yards out but the agile keeper bravely closed the ball down and pounced on the follow up shot.
Town guaranteed their name in the bag for the next round when Allen finished off another good move from Town. The lively Jodie Lodge linked up with Halligan and Broomhead whose inch perfect cross was met by Allen to snatch her second of the game.
Strong performances from Amy Battel, Jodie Hunter and Sharone Buckle at the back with MOM Rose Priestley being at the centre of every town attack ensured a clean sheet for the girls who fought viciously for 90 minutes.
