Town ladies drew 2-2 for the second successive game and, once again were in the end, disappointed not to come away with all 3 points.

Town started brightly and Sarah Danby was almost in on goal 3 minutes in but, was adjudged to have fouled the Fylde keeper.

In the 6th minute Fylde created their first opening but fired wide of the target then, at the other end Katie Nutter saw her shot saved.

Fylde's pacey attacks were causing Town problems and in the 14th minute they took the lead when a cross from the right was headed home.  Just two minutes later and the lead was doubled when a speculative lobbed shot from distance was lost in the floodlights by Laura Carter and the ball dipped over her and into the net.

Town should have been awarded a penalty just a couple of minutes later when a cross was handled on the full by a Fylde defender but, Town's protests were waved away by the referee.

Town managed to keep Fylde on a tighter rein for the remainder of the half with only Danby having a decent shot saved.

Half time 2-0

Town started the second half on the front foot and almost pulled a goal back in the 48th minute when somehow, Fylde managed to clear the ball from their goal line following a corner and goalmouth scramble.

Katie Nutter then had two shots in two minutes, one being saved and the other over the Fylde bar.

Kate Mallin then did the same with one wide and one over the goal.

Ella McCamon was introduced in the 53rd minute and she also saw a header go just over the Fylde crossbar.

The pressure was building and Fylde were now on the back foot.

A Mallin corner was sent into the danger area in the 73rd minute and Lucy Sowerby got the vital touch to pull a goal back for Town, 2-1.

11 minutes from time and Charley Evans levelled the game, powerfully heading home from another corner.

Town continued to press and were again denied what seemed a clear penalty with 5 minutes remaining when a Fylde defender appeared to handle the ball in the area.

In the end, Town ran out of time but, this was another entertaining performance from Town who must now wait until mid May for their next game.
