MATCH REPORTS

SEASON 2017/18

FAWP Reserve League
22nd April 2018
Middlesbrough Reserves 4 - 4 Huddersfield Town Devs

The Development team escaped with a point away at Boro after a lethargic first 60 minutes ended in them fighting back from 4-1 down.

Town started like a house on fire and were 1-0 up after just 3 minutes when Kate Mallin beat the full back to square for Beth Allen to poke home at the second attempt.

Town could have been 4 up but squandered chance after chance in front of goal before Boro grew into the game.

After spurning 4 or 5 chances the home side scored 2 quick fire goals at the end of the first half to put them ahead at the break.

HT: 2-1

Town hadn't learned from their first half mistakes and another 2 quick goals left them with a mountain to climb.

Robyn Hartley and Molly Ellis were introduced to add pace to the flanks and both were influencial in their presence.

Mallin pulled one back from the penalty spot after a hand ball in the area and Amy Broomhead scored after being put through 1 on 1 with the keeper.

Broomhead somehow missed from close range after being handed a chance on a plate by Mallin before Hartley clipped the post and rattled the bar.

Broomhead made amends when she finished off a Town counter attack to complete the comeback but it was Izzy Pares impressive double save which rescued the point for Town with 4 minutes remaining.

Full Time: Mddlesbrough 4-4 HTLFC Devs

Scorers: Broomhead x2, Allen, Mallin
