Huddersfield Town Development 5-1 Newcastle United Reserves
The HTLFC Development team got back to winning ways with a dominating performance against a well organised Newcastle United.
All players returned to top form in a game which saw MOM Robyn Hartley score a stunning hat-trick.
Town were ahead after 5 minutes following a teasing Hartley corner, Ella McCamon winning the flick on for Katie Halligan to finish low at tge near post.
Town continued to press and kept the ball for long periods but it was United who struck next when a counter attack saw the ball worked neatly from right to left with the Newcastle striker lobbing Isobel Pare from 10 yards.
The girls went straight back at it and scored the best goal of the game. Sharone Buckle showed great agility to pluck the ball out of the air from over her shoulder for Laura Walker to play out from the back to McCamon who played an inch perfect throughball for Hartley to take 2 touches and unleash a stunning left foot drive across the keeper into the far corner.
Hartley doubled her tally shortly afterwards with another fine strike following more good build up play from McCamon, Beth Allen and Halligan.
HT 3-1
Town took the same momentum onto the pitch in the second half and Hartley completed her hat-trick on 55 minutes. Allen was strong all day long against her oppenent and held tge ball up for a few seconds beford the resulting play found Hartley on the left who drilled home another long distance strike into the near post.
Amy Broomhead hit the side netting after rounding the keeper and McCamon was unlucky not to add to her 3 assists for the day, narrowly missing the bottom corner with the keeper beaten.
New signing Liuli Dyson was introduced 15 minutes from time and she went close inside the box before being released on the wing to cut inside and skillfully lob the keeper from 12 yards.
A lot better performance from Town who take on Hull City at the same time and place next week.
