In their first season together, the under 10's exceeded expections in reaching the semi final of the SHGCL league cup but, on the day they went out to a very strong Barnsley side who are in their third season together.

Barnsley started the better and scored 2 goals in the first 10 minutes of the game to put Town on the back foot.

Town started to come into the game and Evie Franks had a good shot well saved by the Barnsley keeper.  Town then had another decent chance but the Barnsley defender cleared off the goal line.

Barnsley were always dangerous on the break and a minute before half time they made it 3-0 with a well taken goal.

Early in the second half and replacement keeper Jude Mellor made two excellent saves to deny Barnsley but, 7 minutes in she could do nothing as Barnsley broke through Town's defence and slotted the ball home, 4-0.

Town came back strongly and Sienna Beaumont made two very good breaks down the right but couldn't find the final ball to release the Town strikers.

Towards the end of the game Evie Franks had a shot on the turn but it flew agonisingly wide of the target.

In the end a fair result but, Town ladies under 10's can be proud of their progress this season.
