23rd November 2019
Huddersfield Town 9-0 Worksop
U10s - 2019-20

Huddersfield Town Under 10’s played their second cup game against vistors Worksop and made it two wins from two in the group.

With barely a minute into the game, Town took charge and worked their way through Worksop’s defence, allowing Esmay Clarke to get on the score sheet with an early goal, 1-0.

As the girls settled in, they went on and controlled the game with some good passing and in the 3rdminute, the ball was laid off by Clarke to Harriet Oldfield who immediately tucked it into the back of the net to make it 2-0.

With Worksop on the back-foot Town exploited the opportunity and got straight back in to the opposition’s box where Oldfield guided in her second to make it 3-0 in just 4 minutes.

The game then settled as Worksop kept Town at bay, but 22 minutes in and Clarke took the opportunity to shoot which was initially saved by their keeper, but the slippery ball slid out of her hands and rolled in off the post. 4-0

Town took the initiative and on 24 minutes Holly Wilkinson took on two of their players to slot a perfect pass to Tove Clayton, who in turn took the ball on her right foot and slotted it in to the back of the net to make it 5-0 before the half-time whistle.

Half-time : 5-0

The second half saw Alysia Singh come on, and on the 28th minute, she was weaving through their midfield and using Clayton, on the outside, to return the pass Singh continued on to score her first and make it 6-0.

Worksop seemed to find their feet and, at around the 30 minute mark, they got a couple of decent shots on target, but Izzy Cleverly stood her ground and saved everything that came at her.

33 minutes and it was 7-0 when Town went back on the attack and Oldfield controlling the ball and claiming her hat-trick.

Another five minutes later and Singh got the ball from the half way line, where she again took on the opposition and found the space to strike an unstoppable shot, taking the game to 8-0.

In the dying seconds of the match, Singh was determined to claim a hat-trick herself and took, what was the final chance, to strike a shot into the back of the net.

Full-time : 9-0
