Huddersfield Town Women U12's 4 - Barnsley Red 2
TOWN WFC U12'S 4 - BARNSLEY RED 2
After a fantastic start to the season the u12s were back in action at the stafflex again as the faced Barnsley in horrendous conditions. Town had plenty of the ball early on but it was Barnsley who scored 1st. After going a goal behind Towns reaction was good. At times they played good football and caused Barnsley plenty of problems. Towns persistence eventually paid off, the ball landed to Sienna Noble on the edge of the box and she smashed the ball into the top corner. Half time 1-1
The 2nd half Town continued to dominate the game and scored early again through Sienna Noble who showed great skill and slotted the ball in the right corner of the net with her weaker foot. From this point town seemed comfortable, they looked very strong in defence with Ruby Haigh and Imogen Butterworth being very strong defensively and also composed in possession. 10 minutes later town made it 3 this time Jude Mellor shooting from long range and the ball was too powerful for the Barnsley keeper. Just when town thought the game was over they got a bit of a wake up call as Barnsley scored a fantastic free kick to make it 3-2. This however didn't affect Town and they continued to push forward and managed to get a 4th in the last 10 minutes to seal another 3 points, this time Imaan Ali scoring from close range. Player of the match went to Sienna Noble with a fantastic captain's performance.
Overall another solid performance from the girls and 4 wins from 4. Next Saturday the u12s are back on there travels as they visit Worksop Town
