SEASON 2017/18

u12 League Shield Quarter Final
24th March 2017
                                     Crosspool u12's Red 0 - 3 Huddersfield Town u12's

The under 12s progressed to the semi final of the Shield after a comfortable win over Crosspool Reds.

Town started brightly and kept the ball for long periods of play. Good wing play from Radley and Firth set the tone with both players playing in teasing crosses for the terriers.

Firth twice went close with long range efforts but Burgess put Town ahead on 20 minutes. Good pressing lead to a mix up at the back allowing Burgess to pick up the ball 30 yards out, drive into the box and unleash a thunderbolt from 12 yards into the top corner.

HT 1-0

It was much the same for Town in the 2nd half and it couldve all been over within the opening 10 minutes of the half. Dyson, Rejiba and Burgess all had chances saved by the lively Crosspool keeper as Town kept pressuring the opponents into making mistakes on the ball.

MOM Daisy Turner and Taylor-Williams won everything in the middle of the park allowing Town to keep on the front foot throughout.

Town got a second when Burgess finished from close range for a second goal before Hall fired in low with the last kick of the game.
