SEASON 2017/18

u12 League
18th November 2017
                           Huddersfield Town u12's 0-4 Sheffield United u12's

The under 12’s 3 game unbeaten run came to an end with a below par performance at Storthes Hall against Sheffield United.

The girls never really got going in a game where United were first and second to every ball, with Town not competing well enough against a dogged opposition.

Hannah Burgess spurned Town’s best chance of the first half when her close range effort was dragged wide of the near post.

Grace Redfern was busy throughout in the Town goal and twice did well when the United number 10 tested the stopper with 2 long range efforts. However a long ball over the top shortly afterwards caught out the defence, with the United number 9 finishing easily from close range.

HT 0-1

Town never turned up in the second half and failed to register as shot on target for the next 35 minutes. At the other end United were soon 2-0 up when Redfern saved well from close range but her save deflected back off the oncoming striker and into the Town goal.

The young Terriers rarely threatened and were under pressure for the next 10 minutes before 2 quick fire goals saw the game put beyond their reach.

A poor show from the girls but this result doesn’t tale the shine off how well they have performed in previous weeks. They travel away to Barnsley next week as they look to get back to winning ways.
