Wickersley Youth U12's 1 - Huddersfield Town Women U12's 4
The u12s 2nd game of the season was a tough test away against Wickersley. Town were on the front foot from the 1st whistle and took the lead early as Jude mellor scored from Evie Franks low corner. Town created plenty of chances after taking the lead but struggled to add to there tally and Wickersley punished them with an equalising goal against the run of play. 10 minutes later town created another chance and this time regained the lead, Evie Franks sliding a nice through ball for Lucia Morrison who slotted calmly past the goalkeeper. Wickersley had a chance to equalise before half time when they were awarded a penalty but unfortunately for them It went over the bar. Half time 2-1
Wickersley came out strong at the start of the 2nd half but towns defence was very resilient. After soaking up some pressure town got a penalty of there own as Sienna Beaumont was brought down and Sienna Noble confidently scored to give town a 3-1 lead. From this point Town managed the game very well and eventually scored a 4th as Lucia Morrison got her much deserved 2nd goal of the game with a simple tap in.
Player of the match went to Ava Jones on her debut league game for Town.
Overall another great win for the u12s and a great start to the season. Next up is a home tie against Charnock Ridgeway.
