The under 13s lost 3-1 in the semi-final of the cup away at Wickersley despite a spirited performance.

 

Wickersley tactically changed from their usual pitch to an open, slanting, uneven pitch full of potholes which prevented Town from getting any rhythm on the ball.

 

Going up hill in the 1st half Town battled well to protect the goal against the strong wind but 1 mishandled shot by Refern in the Town goal from the opposition was enough to give them a 1 nil lead at half time.

 

HT: 1-0

 

Town fought hard again in the second half and were level when Ramsdens long range effort crashed off the bar into the path of Gindra who smashed the ball into the far corner with 20 minutes remaining.

 

Town failed to capitalise and did not pressure their opppnents enough to be able to snatch the win.

 

Instead 2 errors at the back from the backline saw Wickersley tap home 2 unanswered goals into an empty net to send them through to the final.
