The under 14's made an excellent come back to rescue a point from this 8 goal thriller against last season's league champions.

Wednesday headed wide in the first minute of the game and shortly afterwards Tamara Wilcock shot wide for Town.

Both teams were creating half chances but they were fairly evenly matched.

Keira Millward made a decent save in the 20th minute before Chloe Latham struck a shot over the bar at the other end.

Wednesday took the lead in the 24th minute when Lucy Grice bundled over the Wednesday striker in the box.  They made no mistake from the penalty spot.

Town tried to make an immediate come-back but their best chance fell to Wilcock who saw her shot rebound off the Wednesday post.

Half time 1-0.

With the wind at their backs, it only took 5 minutes of the second half for Town to equalise. A deep cross from Wilcock, was headed home by Isobella Kington. However, just a minute later and Wednesday were ahead again, and two minutes after that went 3-1 up when Town's defence were unable to clear their lines.

With 20 minutes of the game remaining, Latham pulled a goal back with a shot from distance (3-2), but they went 4-2 behind with just 14 minutes of the game left.

Alex McKie played in Kington with 5 minutes remaining (4-3) and then Town could have equalised in the final minute of the game but, Mia Harris's shot hit the Wednesday cross bar.

With injury time looming McKie levelled things up with a shot across the keeper to end a thriller of a game between two well matched teams.

Amy Almond was named player of the match after an excellent display at left back.
