The under 14's lost a competitive game for the first time in 7 months after slipping to a well deserved defeat at home to Sheffield United.

 

Although Town took the lead after 3 minutes through Burgess and doubled their lead 20 minutes later through Libby Harris, the performance and effort was not what we've seen in the first 3 games.

 

Grace Redfern kept Town in the game after a string of great 1 on 1 saves following slow and sloppy defending from Town but was beaten just before half time when Town failed to clear their line to reduce the deficit to 1 goal.

 

HT: 2-1

 

Town were nowhere near the standard required in the second half in terms of effort and attitude against a side who clearly wanted the result more than anyone in blue and white.

 

Repetitive defensive errors saw Town concede 3 goals in the second half in a match where the opposition deserved the scoreline after heart filled performance.

 

Town will need to improve quickly to face Millmoor away next week where the players will be expected to put right the wrongs from this week.
