6th January 2018
                           Sheffield Utd (Whites) 2 -  Huddersfield Town u14's 5

Town ladies retained joint top spot in Division 1 with a hard earned win away at Sheffield United Whites.

The game started evenly with neither side willing to concede ground to the other.

The first real chance didn't come until the 20th minute when Isobella Kington had a decent effort saved.

Just two minutes later Kington gave Town the lead when Gaby Pearson lobbed a good ball into the penalty area which Kington expertly volleyed home.

Just after the half hour mark, Tamara Wilcock went on one of her customary strong runs and crossed to Kington who made it 2-0.

United shot just wide as the end of the half neared.

Half time 0-2

Nine minutes into the second half and United's pressure on Town's goal eventually told as they pulled a goal back.

The introduction of Alex McKie gave Town more pace down the left and her strong run and cross was met in the area by Laura Hulme but, the United keeper saved.

Keira Millward in Town's goal pulled off a great saved to deny United but, just a minute later United levelled with a break from half way, 2-2.

It took Town just 5 minutes to regain the lead as Kington broke away and rounded the keeper to complete an excellent hat trick.

United ran straight to the other end but, a goal mouth scramble only ended with them poking the ball wide of Town's goal.

With 2 minutes remaining Hulme retained possession from a throw in and broke into the United box to finish well, 2-4.

Hulme then crossed for McKie to finish well as the game drew to a close.

Full time 2-5.

Leah Pearman was named player of the match for her excellent defensive work.
