The under 14's moved 3 points clear at the top of division 1 after another solid display away at Rotherham Hornets.

On a small pitch and with smaller than regulation goals, Town struggled during the first half to finish the many chances that they created and in possession they were dominant for long periods.

Isobella Kington and Scarlett Taylor both saw early efforts sail over the Hornets cross bar before Kington again sent a shot wide of the target.

The Hornets were being terrorised by the skill and pace of Tamara Wilcock and particularly Laura Hulme and her constant attacking threat down the right.

Keira Millward was called into action for the first time in the 20th minute when she got down well to save a strong shot.

3 minutes later and it was Hulme that broke the deadlock when she managed to nod home a ball from a corner, 1-0.

7 minutes before half time and Hornets were the recipients of some charitable defending from Town when an attempted clearance fell straight at the feet of the Hornets striker who made no mistake from 2 yards out.

Half time 1-1.

Playing uphill in the second half, Town find control of the final ball easier and took the lead 2 minutes in when Ruby Mills played in Kington to finish well.

Millward was again called into action at the other end pulling off another fine save.

Wilcock and Hulme teamed up again for Hulme to get her second goal of the game with an excellent finish, 3-1.

With 10 minutes remaining, Alex McKie broke down the left and powered a shot towards the goal which proved too hot for the Hornets keeper to handle, 4-1.

Erin Kay made it 5-1 4 minutes later to wrap up the game but Rovers weren't done and before full time hit Town's crossbar as well as calling upon Millward to produce another fine stop.

Joint players of the match were Laura Hulme and Erin Kay for their constant hard word in midfield.
