Huddersfield Town u12's 3-0 Crosspool Juniors (Red) u12's
The Under 12's got back to winning ways with a comfortable 3-0 victory against Crosspool at the Stafflex Arena.
The Terriers took the lead after just 2 minutes when Jess Radley overlapped Molly Firth to find Ella Rejiba who pulled the ball back to the deadly Hannah Burgess who slotted home from 8 yards.
3 minutes later the striker had her second of the game when a mix up between the 2 Crosspool centre halves allowed the pacey striker to nip in between the 2 and smash the ball into the roof of the net from 6 yards out.
Town were outstanding defensively throughout with the back 3 of Jessica Radley, Isopbel Morgan and Erin Fawcett sweeping up everything that came there way.
MOM Mia Yates playing in an unfamilar defensive midfield role was a rock in the centre of the park while wingers Antonia Dyson amd Firth looked dangerous at every counter attack.
Town survived 2 freekicks from just outside the box with the wall standing strong on both occasions before referee and brought the half to a close.
HT: 2-0
Town came out the second half with the same tempo and controlled the 35 minutes playing the ball round nicely, being patient in the build up.
2 Rejiba corners resulted in 2 goal mouth scrambles with the ball not quite falling at the feet of a Town player.
Burgess completed her hat-trick and put the game to bed on the hour mark when a neat turn amd shot from the edge of the box was too powerful for the keeper to handle as Town went 3-0 up.
Molly Firth was lively throughout and on another day could have had a hat-trick herself but the Crosspool keeper was to stubborn between the sticks.
Town held out and a much welcomed first clean sheet of the season was kept following a fine defensive display.
