Towns under 14s delivered the good away at table topping Millmoor Reds with a fine 3-2 win in a highly entertaining game of football.

Millmoor started the strongest but Grace Redfern was a rock in the Town goal and produced 3 top class saves in the first 10 minutes. However the pressure eventually turned into the opening goal when Redferns save hit the fortunate strikers head and trickled over the line.

This kicked Town into life and they were soon level when Firths amazing run down the right ended with a low cross into the path of Holmes who confidently swept the ball home from 8 yards.

Town found themselves ahead shortly after when more excellent work from Firth saw the ball land at the feet of Ramsden who unleashed a thunder bolt from 20 yards into the roof of the net.

Holmes and Harris both spurned good chances while Millmoor struggled woth the physical presence of the solid Turner and Cleverley partnership in midfield.

The reds were level just before half and completely against the run of play. A long hopefull free kick was just above Redferns head who could only parry the ball which again hit a Reds player and rolled over the line.

HT: 2-2

Millmoor again started strong but the back line stood strong, throwing themselves at every shot they faced. A deep cross was miss hit and hit the bar for the reds as Town continued to battle for every long ball and cross against a very physical side.

Firth, Holmes and Harris all went close with efforts with 20 minutes left on the clock but Town eventually got the winner with 12 minutes remaining. Resilient work from Burgess on the wing saw her close down the back line and feed Harris with a perfectly weighted through ball and the young striker made no mistake as she superbly slotted the ball into the bottom corner.

The reds through everything at Town and could've equalised late on but Redfern produced another terrific save late on after the Millmoor winger dispossessed the defence.

Town stayed strong and could've put the game to bed on a couple of occasions after breaking on the counter but it was the Terriers day as the final whistle blew.
