Town Ladies under 15's played their latest league fixture when Rotherham United Whitehall Girls visited The Stafflex Arena.

The game started with neither side able to take control of the game. Chances were rare with both defences seeing off any attacks from the opposition.

Eventually Town broke the deadlock on 15 minutes when Lois Mattock found Mia Harris. She ran with the ball, beating two players and found Bella Kington in the area. Bella scored with a well placed shot into the corner of the net. From then on Town controlled the game.

In the 23rd minute Lucy Grice won the ball in midfield and passed to Alex Mckie, who in turn crossed to Mia, who turned the ball in at the far post. Two minutes later, Mia scored her second when she collected a loose ball and fired home.

The next goal came four minutes later when Alex again became provider when she passed the ball to Laura Hulme, whose shot flew into the top corner.

Town were not finished and made the score 5 - 0 when Mia again found space and placed the ball past the keeper.

The score remained 5 - 0 until half time.

In the second half the under 15's played differently with a more tactical game and passed the ball around to control the play. Alex went close on a couple of occasions and Lois had a shot just wide. In the 52nd minute the score became 6 - 0 when Lois found Alex who sprinted down the wing and her cross was turned in by Maddy Rodd. Two minutes later Maddy was on the score sheet again when Laura found her and she sent a powerful shot wide of the keeper. Town's final goal came four minutes later when Alex was in space to collect the ball and fire home.

Rotherham were rewarded with a goal that their play deserved when, in the 65th minute, a defensive mix up allowed their striker to fire home.

Player of the Match was Lucy Grice for her tenacious display in midfield which helped produce a good team performance.
