After last week’s disappointment in the cup semi-final, Town came up with the perfect response against a struggling Dronfield team on Saturday. 

 

Shocked by an early strike from the visitors, the hosts soon got into their stride with Isobella Kington completing a swift and clinical hat-trick to put Town in control inside 25 minutes.

 

Lois Mattock stroked home a fourth from a Gaby Pearson corner to leave the visitors with a lot to do in the second half.

 

Despite a spirited fight by the Dronfield girls, Town continued to dominate after the break.  In a game remembered for a number of great saves by the visitors’ keeper, further goals were added by Lucy Grice, Mia Harris, Laura Hulme, Isobella, Lois and Tegan Stewart-Pybus to complete the scoring.

 

Player of the match was Amy Almond for her ball-winning, distribution and hard graft in very warm conditions.
