In their latest league fixture the under 15s were at home to Barnsley Reds. The game started with both teams playing some pleasing possession based football. However, both defences were able to repel any attacking threat in the opening stages. It took Town 15 minutes to create a chance when Lois Mattock set Alex McKie free on the left and her centre was met by Bella Kington whose shot went narrowly wide. This was the spark the under 15s needed and they took the game to Barnsley. When Bella was tripped 25 yards out Jada Simon's free kick was just wide of the post. Then, Bella and Maddy Rodd had chances which went close. On the 29th minute, Town were  indebted to Kiera Millward in goal when she produced an excellent double save, She first dived and pushed a goal - bound shot away and was quickly up to save the follow up shot. All that hard work at training is paying off Kiera !  What made it more important was that a minute later Town took the lead. Lois found Laura Hulme who beat two players and then fired a shot into the roof of the net, giving the keeper no chance. The score remained 1 - 0 until half time.

In the second half the under 15 became more dominant. Three minutes in  Bella headed a Laura Cross just wide. Then in the 48th minute, Gabby Pearon's corner was controlled and fired home by Bella to make the score 2 - 0. The under 15s continued to press forward and 15 minutes later Lucy Grice found Maddy in space on the right and her cross was met at the far post by Mia Harris, who scored with a well placed shot. Town were now in complete control and the scoring was completed when Maddy ran onto a through ball and her powerful shot flew into the corner of the net.

This was an excellent team performance with a strong defence, competitive midfield and skilful attack. The passing and movement was excellent and a good all-round attitude to the game.

Mia Harris was player of the match with a good all-round performance.
