The under 18's won their first game of the season with a strong performance away at Sheffield United Community Ladies.

The team have undergone a rebuild over the Summer as a total of 10 players either moved on or progressed to open age football with the Development team however, if they can continue with performances like this one, the season may yet prove to be fruitful.

Four goals from one of their original squad Harriet Waller plus two from new signing Ella Cork proved the difference on the day.

The game started with both teams trying to take control and Sheffield Utd put Town under pressure but, the back 4 stood strong and eventually the Huddersfield girls started to get to grips with the game and started to pass the ball and dominate after the early pressure.

The midfield linked with the frontline to create chances and eventually went 1-0 up through Ella Cork. Huddersfield now dominated and one quickly became three with Harriett Waller grabbing a brace through persistence and hard work.

That same persistence completed Harrietts hat trick before half time and then from a corner sheffeld grabbed a goal back after a goal mouth scramble to give them hope for the second half.

Half time 1-4

The second half started much as the first half with Sheffield making the early running and a through ball ended with the Sheffield striker keeping her cool to slot past Charlotte Ackroyd in the Huddersfield goal 2-4.
So now it was game on and Town needed to regroup and keep possesion and take charge of the game. A lovely passing move through midfield into Harriett Waller's feet resulted in her chipping the goalkeeper to grab her 4th goal of the game 2-5
The momentum was now all Town's and they scored their 6th of the game when Ella Cork turned in a cross at the back post to grab her second of the game in only her second game for Huddersfield Town Ladies U18s.
