The under 16s went in to their second league fixture of the season at Sheffield United in confident mood after their strong performance at Barnsley Reds the previous week.

 

After an even opening quarter of the game Town took the initiative with excellent strikes from Laura Hulme and Bella Kington. 

 

With Lois Mattock pulling the strings in midfield the visitors continued to press and were rewarded with a third goal when Kington coolly finished after breaking into the box before the break.

 

The second half saw an early reply from the hosts after the Town defence failed to clear up a long through ball.

 

Any hopes United had of turning the game round were dashed within two minutes by the excellent Hulme’s second strike from the edge of the box. 

 

Mia Harris capped a fine personal performance when she latched on to a loose ball to slot home the final goal of the game.
