                                          Bawtry Juniors 2 - 9 Huddersfield Town u16's

Huddersfield Town Ladies U16's remained unbeaten for the season so far following their 2 - 9 win over Bawtry. Town were anticipating a positive result so used the opportunity to practice their passing game and practice they did. Town were at times sublime with the accuracy of the ball meeting its target and it was a pleasure to watch.

Despite the passing, they had a game to win so they got things going with the first goal coming after a rebounded Macy Ellis shot was followed up by Harriet Waller straight past the keeper...0 - 1 Town. Alicia Marriott had an attempt 2 minutes later but the ball went just wide. Towns next shot was not going to miss after Gwen Hughes received the ball from the wing on 5 minutes and sent it easily past the keeper...0 - 2 Town. Town went back to the passing and it wasn't until 13 minutes when Harriet Waller tackled her way through the defence and tapped it past the keeper with her left foot...0 - 3 Town.

Courtney Livsey was clearly wanting to get on the score sheet as well and found herself a few metres out from the opposition goal where she was able to meet the ball and tap home...0 - 4 Town. With so much possession it was inevitable that Town were going to be susceptible to loss of concentration and they did on 22 minutes when the opposition attacker shot from distance straight over Emily Brookes head into the Town net...1 - 4 Town. Town continued to throw the ball around for the next ten minutes until a great pass down the wing to Alicia Marriott allowed her to turn and fire past the keeper...1 - 5 Town. It was fast approaching half time but that didn't stop Town getting one more goal when Brodie Haigh fired a belter from a considerable distance straight past the keeper...1 - 6 Town.

Half time 1 - 6 Town

Straight into the second half and Town wanted to stamp their authority and they did so when Jess Barrow ran down the wing, cut inwards and placed the ball into the opposition net...1 - 7 Town.

Jess and Zoe Laughton were playing well together and it paid off again on 57 minutes when Zoe passed to Jess allowing her to chip the keeper...1 - 8 Town. Towns last goal came midway through the second half after Courtney Livsey battled her way through both the midfield and defence to strike the target...1 - 9 Town. Town were cruising and again the players were showing signs of switching off again, this gave Bawtry one last chance shortly before full time where they took complete advantage by snatching the ball in the penalty area and shooting past Emily Brookes...2 - 9 Town.

Star player was Courtney Livsey for driving much of the play.
