Dronfield Town u16's 0 - Huddersfield Town u16's 8
Huddersfield Town Ladies U16s continued with winning ways with a very confident 0-8 win over Dronfield town. Town wasted no time at all when on 3m Alicia Marriott and Macy Ellis interlinked down the left wing to finish with a chip that was parried off of the keeper then returned by Alicia into the back of the net... 0-1 Town. Town continued to have multiple chances over the next 15m but were unable to hit the net. 16m in and Town got their second when Macy ran the wing and crossed into the box where Harriet Waller was waiting to slot home... 0-2 Town. Town were now placing the ball very effectively and continued to put pressure on Dronfield. On 29m Harriet got her second when the ball rebounded off the crossbar where she was happy to put it away... 0-3 Town. The Remainder of the first half was a mixture of Town pressure and Dronfield defending which they were doing well.
Have time 0-3 Town.
Second-half and it was clear Town wanted to carry on the way they finished in the first half with lots of possession ball and effective passing. Town made it 0-4 on 42m when Brodie Haigh picked up the ball just outside the box and fired a shot across goal to beat the keeper. Two minutes later and Macy almost made it five when a strong run in the box followed by a chip went over the crossbar. Shortly after Jess Barrow also came close with a solid shot that hit the post. It took until 48m before Town scored again when a cross from Brodie was met by Harriet in the box to fire past the keeper. Town were not getting it all there own way and on 68m almost conceded their first when a Dronfield run down the left wing had to be intercepted by Francis Keddie who battled to clear the ball. Town came close again on 70m when Harriet and Jess worked well together to make it through on goal and again shoot just over. Goal number six came on 73 minutes when Zoe Laughton scored her first goal with a great effort from distance that the keeper was unable to save. The chances continued for Town but not until 77m when some fantastic interplay between Jess, Alicia and Molly Ellis let Molly in on goal where she easily slotted past the keeper... 0-7 Town. Towns final goal came in the 79m when Molly crossed the ball from the right wing where Harriet tapped on to Jess who didn’t waste the chance by belting the ball straight into the net.
Final score 0-8 Town. Star player Harriet Waller for great work individual play.
