The Development team produced another impressive display to beat Bolton Wanderers away from home.

However the game started on a negative note with centre back Sharone Buckle rolled her ankle and had to be substituted after only 3 minutes. Laura Neimantas called in late for the injured Isobel Boothroyd slotting into left back.

​

Town were soon ahead when Amy Broomhead saw her intial effort saved but pounced on the rebound from 2 yards out.

​

Her strike partner Beth Allen added her first of the game 4 minutes later to give Town a 2-0 advantage after 10 minutes.

​

Town continued their momentum from last weeks win over Blackburn and kept their opponents to only long range shots throughout.

​

Broomhead added her second after good buildup play down the left before Allen scored arguably the best goal of the game. A Town goal kick saw the ball go through 6 players before Allen finished off the move without the opposition touching the ball.

​

Allen completed her hat-trick from close range and a fine 20 yard strike from Ella McCamon put town comfortably ahead at half time.

Broomhead completed her hat-trick soon after the restart with a neat volleyed finish before playing in substitue Lucy Sowerby who somehow didnt add to her goal from last week from close range.

​

Bolton pulled one back when a 30 yard free kick was too high for Isobel Pare in the Town goal with the ball crashing in off the underside of the bar.

​

Sowerby drew in the Wanderers centre half and won a penalty shortly afterwards, however Tara Duce's penalty was struck high over the bar.

​

Neimantas provided her 2nd assist of the game from a deep corner with centre back Vicky Abbott volleying home a rare goal from 6 yards.

​

The Development side now have a break from league as they take on Blackburn in the last 16 of the league cup next week, 2pm kick off.
